POWERING LIVES WITH SOLAR COOKING

Empowerment

Providing Clean, Safe & Viable Solar Cooking Solutions World Wide

Today around 3 billion people cook with dirty fuel sources; such as wood, dung or charcoal. As a result, smoke inhalation related illness ranks with malaria and AIDs as one of the great greatest problems facing the world. In addition, fuel wood scarcity drives families around the world to spend many hours collecting and transporting heavy loads of fuel wood, often to the detriment of already endangered ecosystems. If fire wood is purchased it often makes a sizeable portion of the family's income.

Through our experiences, we've learned that cooking with the sun can save lives, protect the environment, and empower communities on a global level.

After an opportunity from the Global Alliance for Clean Cookstoves to extensively test it's technology in the highlands of Guatemala, GoSun is on the verge of starting a social enterprise for developing markets with the potential to change lives, communities and ecosystems.

How GoSun Empowers

.The GoSun solar cooking technology leapfrogs solid fuels completely, providing a safe, fast and affordable alternative to the status quo. A compliment to all existing cooking technology, the GoSun For All (currently under development) has the potential to save a profound amount of time and money for families around the world.

Current Partnering Organizations

Global Alliance for Clean Cookstoves - GoSun Stove is a partner of the Global Alliance for Clean Cookstoves, a public-private initiative led by the United Nations Foundation to save lives, improve livelihoods, empower women and preserve the environment by creating a thriving global market for clean cooking solutions.

Sonlight Power (Honduras and Chiapas Mexico) - Sonlight Power’s mission is to make an immediate and lasting impact in regions with no supply of affordable electricity – which obstructs education for children, hinders the quality of medical care, and makes everyday life even more challenging for people in these areas. The GoSun stove will join with these efforts to play a key piece in the effort to use sustainable technology to empower.

Friends of Belle-Riviere (Belle-Riviere, Haiti) - Friends of Belle-Rivière (FBR) hopes to assist the residents of Belle-Rivière in the long-term development of their community by meeting basic human needs for food, clean water, health, education, and sustainable commerce. It is essential that these goals are accomplished through representatives of the community. In Haiti, projects are prioritized and facilitated by a group of local coordinators called Team for the Progress of the Community (TPC). FBR seeks to equip this group with organization, perspective, connection, and resource.
